Section 7 due on September 19

1. The work/rain example in the textbook really helped make the concept of the contrapositive proof make intuitive sense for me. That was fairly straightforward. The difficulty for me was with divisors. I think the confusing part is how we use the symbols a|b to say that a divides b but then in the proof it's a whole other beast. (If I was in LaTeX I'd write it!) Proofs feel to me like a strange, roundabout sort of way of defining concepts that are otherwise intuitively clear.

2. But, so as to not sound too much like a complainer, I can see the value and I can feel the mental stretching in learning proofs. Explicit definitions are tricky and require consistent, careful thinking. I'm excited to build this skill, although I'm not excited for the mental pain it may take. But like they say, no pain no gain.
