Section 3, due on September 10
1. The most difficult part of this reading is definitely the introduction of new logical operators and the construction of truth tables. It's like being introduced to a new language! I'm a little intimidated by the number of new terms and ideas like De Morgan's Law, Contrapositive, and Distributivity. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised to be learning about new concepts and practices.
2. The quote at the beginning of the chapter from Neil deGrasse Tyson is fantastic, and also encouraging. It is comforting to me to realize that most people aren't naturally logical thinkers and that if it takes me time and effort to master these techniques for logical thinking, that's okay! I never realized that we could take a mathematical approach to logical argumentation... but even as I type that it seems silly. Math is the language of logic. The most basic logic. I look forward to seeing how this logical approach can help me to better interpret the world.
